Srinagar, June 27 In order to stop the flow of local tourists at the famous tourist spot Pahalgam, the notice was issued by office of Sub Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam directing all tourist activity to be stopped till further orders.
According to th reports, a huge rush of tourists pitching tents across the banks of river of famous tourist spot Pahalgam was witnessed from few days raising huge concern of safety amid Covid-19, in view to stop the rush Divisional Magistrate issued notice to the concerned authorities directing to strengthen all the checkpoints leading to the spot.
Earlier, with the deadly novel Coronavirus spreading its wings across Jammu and Kashmir, the government as a preventive measure announced the closure of prominent tourist and religious spots and imposed strict lockdown to combat the virus which lasted for about four months.
The order read as, “It has been observed that during past few days the local tourists have started to come to Phalgam. They have tried to pitch tents and stay on the banks of the river.In view of the Covid-19 the flow needs to be stopped .It is therefore ordered that all checkpoints be strengthened and all tourist activity be stopped till further orders.”
“Tehsildar and concerned SHO will ensure the implementation of the restrictions in the area.Besides I/C tourist police will render all the assistance to SHO Pahalgam to ensure the implementation of the order,” it further reads.
Pertinently, after the government announced relaxations in the gaint lockdown of four months every sector if society is returning to normal including trade, transport, restrounts, religious places under strict Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s).(KNB)
