Weather Update: Unabated cold conditions continue to grip Kashmir

Srinagar: Below normal minimum temperatures continued in most parts of Kashmir on fourth straight day. At 1.6 degrees Celsius, summer capital Srinagar recorded the same temperature for third consecutive night. Sub-zero temperatures continued in Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Kupwara on Thursday.

Pahalgam recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.8 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg had a low temperature of minus 0.5 degrees Celsius. While, Kupwara recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.2 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag in south Kashmir, registered a low temperature of 1.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday night, against Tuesday night’s 2.1 degrees Celsius.

Banihal was the coldest place in Jammu region and recorded a minimum temperature of 1.8 degrees Celsius, which was 2.8 degrees below the normal.

Jammu city recorded 12.4 degrees Celsius, Katra 12.2 degrees Celsius, Batote 5.9 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 3.8 degrees Celsius as the night’s lowest temperatures, MeT data said.
