MeT predicts light snowfall in higher reaches today

Srinagar: The Meteorological Department Tuesday predicted light snowfall in the higher reaches on Wednesday.

“Light snowfall at isolated pockets, especially in the higher reaches of Kashmir and Ladakh is possible during the next 24 hours,” said Director MeT Sonam Lotus.

However, he said there was no forecast for any heavy snowfall.

Meanwhile, the MeT Centre Srinagar said that currently, weather was partly to generally cloudy at many places of J&K.

“Except in the afternoon, there is no report of any snowfall or rainfall in entire J&K,” the MeT Centre Srinagar said.

It forecasted mainly dry weather till December 23.

“However, there's the possibility of light snowfall at isolated places on higher reaches of Kashmir Tuesday night although chances of snowfall in plains are very less,” the MeT Centre Srinagar said.
