If your Aadhar card is lost somewhere or if it is not available with you at the time of need, then you can download e-Aadhaar card. There are 2 ways of this. In one, you download it with the help of Aadhar number while in the other Aadhar number is not required.



New Delhi. Aadhaar number is a unique identification number issued by UIDAI. It is of 12 digits and other information including your biometrics is available in it. The card on which the Aadhar number is found is called Aadhar card.

Although people often take out the hard copy of Aadhar card with them, but for some reason you do not have a hard copy of Aadhar and you are in dire need of Aadhar card, then you can download e-Aadhaar card. There are 2 ways to do this. First you can download e-Aadhaar card by Aadhaar number and secondly you can download e-Aadhaar by date of birth also. Let’s see how.

How to Download Aadhar Card by Date of Birth

1. First of all visit the link given here https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve-eid-uid
2. Now enter your Full Name, Mobile Number or E-mail ID and Security Enter code.
3. Click on Send OTP
4. Enter the OTP received on your mobile or e-mail ID in the space provided and click on Verify OTP
5. You will be sent Aadhaar Enrollment Number on the phone.

 

6. After this, you go to the e-Aadhaar page on the UIDAI website

 

7. Here enter the enrollment number of 28 numbers and click on send OTP.
8. Aadhar card will be downloaded in the form of PDF file on your phone or laptop.

How to Download by Aadhaar Number

If you know your Aadhaar number then you can download e-Aadhaar very easily.
1. Go to the official website of
Aadhar 2. Select the Aadhar Number option
3. Enter your Aadhar Number, Security Code and Click on Send OTP. OTP will be sent to your mobile number.
4. Now enter the OTP on the given space on the page.
5. Then click on Verify and Download
6. After the verification is done, your e-Aadhaar will be downloaded in PDF file. It will be password protected.
7. To open the file 8 digit password has to be entered which is 4 characters of your name (in capital) and your year of birth.

Significantly, the government is using the Aadhaar number to transfer the benefits of the schemes directly to the bank accounts.
