After trying for 8 years, Saqib Dar finally qualifies JKAS
Hailing from Natipora, Srinagar, Saqib has been trying to crack the examination for the past eight years and this time his hard work, determination and patience has paid off.
Soon after finishing the Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering in 2014, he started preparing for the civil service examination.
“I was preparing for UPSC exams simultaneously. I was hopeful this time I would get through but was not confident about the rank,” he said.
Talking about his preparations, he said that the syllabus is vast and one has to work hard without looking for any shortcuts.
“There are no hard and fast rules. Preparations are not bound to the hours of the day. One has to study dedicatedly and patiently. I have been trying to crack this exam for past 8 years. I had appeared in the interviews before as well. Despite rejections, I never thought of giving up on my goals,” he said.
He further said that he has been preparing himself by self-studying and his expectations for the future are high.
“My family has been supportive to me. They never force me to take any job to earn a livelihood. With sincerity and honesty, things come your way even if it takes some time,” he said. (Rising Kashmir)
